Anna Alcubierre

Vic, 1972.

Graduate in Dramatic Art, specialising in stage design, from the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona through the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 1998, and qualified in Design, specialising in Interior Design, from EINA in 1993. With a postgraduate grant from the Government of Catalonia, she completed a workshop in Art Direction at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 2002. She is currently taking a Master's in Culture Management at the UOC, UdG and UIB.

He has done a Master's in Culture Management at the UOC, UdG and UIB in 2012. She is currently taking a doctoral program at the UdG.

Teaching

She has been a teacher at EINA since 2005, and she currently teaches the subjects of Stage Design and Design of Ephemeral Spaces on the Design Degree; the Suspicions about the Archive module of the Official Master's in Research in Art and Design; the Exhibition, from Idea to Display module on the Postgraduate in Collaborative Design in Product, Services and Sustainability; she is also a member of the Research Teaching Staff in the Design Processes work group. Advanced Practices in Art and Design, which seeks to develop, foster and gather research initiatives into current design and art practices. Also as teacher on the Temporary Architecture, Stage Acts and Concepts Postgraduate Programme at the Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya between 2003 and 2007, and on the Master's in Creation of Exhibition, Curatorship and Publishing Projects at the EINA School in 2007.

Professional / Research Activity

She has worked as an exhibition design professional for museums and cultural centres since 1998, also working with such institutions as the MNAC, the Museu Picasso in Barcelona, the Museu Episcopal in Vic, the CCCB, the Sagrada Família, La Pedrera and CaixaForum. Parallel to this, since 1997, she has worked as a stage designer, working on productions for the Teatre Lliure, the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, the Mercat de les Flors, the Sala Beckett and the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, to name just a few. She presently runs her own company, Espai_e, which works in this field. In 2008 she joined the lavola company, where she managed the eco-spaces business line until 2010.
In 2010 she founded her own studio, Espai E, where she has her professional practice.
